As the end of another tough year approaches, employee input and overall engagement levels can begin to wane as the business gradually winds down. However, the weeks leading up to Christmas can be extremely valuable to an organisation and, if approached correctly, can have a real impact on the company’s success in future months by providing a vital head start for the New Year.

Summer (what there was of it) has definitely turned into Autumn and that got me thinking about what impacts the seasons have on people’s behaviour and performance at work.

You’ll probably have heard of the condition SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), where a small minority of unfortunate people suffer extreme ill effects from sunlight deprivation in the winter – a condition that can be effectively treated by spending time under UV lamps. But what about the rest of us? How might we be affected by the calendar year (and not just by the end of our financial years!)?

1st Oct 2012

Article by Geoffrey James.

Don’t talk yourself out of success. Improving the words you use to describe your own experience can make your future brighter.

Everyone in business knows that words are important. Some companies spend millions of pounds to get the perfect wording for their corporate, marketing, and sales messages.

Since words are important, it’s absolutely crazy to be careless when you’re communicating with the most important person in your business world: you!
